If you were to ask me five years ago that I would complete a full Ironman triathlon, I would have thought you were crazy.  Let alone for my husband to complete two full Ironman triathlons this year.

Castiac Tri IM BoulderThere’s a ton of communicating, planning, scheduling, and organizing involved in preparation for triathlon while working full time and raising a family.  Having our triathlon gear organized kept us sane.  Triathlon training was made easy by creating an organized hybrid space for home storage and triathlon gear in our garage!

With the use of The Container Store Elfa Shelving System, this is how we turned our garage into an organized triathlon center:

Placing memorabilia or items rarely used on the top shelf, holiday/seasonal items on the second shelf and triathlon gear on the bottom shelf for easy access.

I am a huge fan of clear bins because you can see what’s in them!  Labeling the bins also helped my husband and I know where to place items back after use.

The Multi Purpose Bins work great for containing supplies of each portion of triathlon.

The Elfa utility straight handled hook is long enough and strong enough to hold our triathlon gear bags.

Command Hooks work wonders in hanging our wet suits after use!

Of course after every race you get some bling.  We display our accomplishments on the  So Hooked Hook Rack , at the entrance of our home from the garage (we leave our egos at the door, before entering our home).
